Message from the President:
Ramona business is experiencing new challenges everyday as we all attempt to adapt our business models for the impending financial pains that our community and country will likely endure. Having said that, "this year will be better than the last!" I know; you ask how could he say this, it might be time for Thad to get checked out! My belief is based on the fact that Ramona business people have proven to be resilient and adaptive. The business climate has changed significantly and it has forced all of us to look inward and change the way that we do business. We are all still here because of this truth and it is my opinion that the journey will be far more pleasant if we make it together, sharing valuable insight and experiences that have helped various members survive the past two years.
The Chamber of Commerce will look for new ways to keep you connected to both issues at the local level and "hot button" items, like legislation that would either help or harm our businesses. One of these changes will be brought to life as soon as we can get the details and appropriate elected officials scheduled. The Chamber will host a quarterly breakfast that brings the membership together with various elected officials; in a venue that allows for open dialogue and an environment that opens the critical lines of communication between all parties. You will most likely see this event advertised in the March Newsletter and it will be an exciting venue, so be sure to come out and support it!
By now, I am sure that everyone has heard the term "blogging" which refers to essentially a chat room that brings us together virtually to vent and share business related issues affecting us. The Chamber is also looking into setting up a blog site for all of our members to stay connected with each other. More information will follow as these exciting improvements are brought to fruition. The focus of the Chamber of Commerce will continue to sharpen and narrow its’ focus on BUSINESS and I ensure all of you that your voices are important and will be heard! The Ramona Chamber will also realign itself with other community Chambers of Commerce in an attempt to further enhance our value and commitment to business and knowledge related to that pursuit.
February is an exciting time of year because we are ramping up our mixer schedule, this months mixer will be held at the Ramona Mainstage Theater, I am hopeful that our attendance will continue to grow and that we all make the commitment to be there and network with our fellow business people. The Mainstage is a terrific mixer and promises a good time.
Lastly, I urge you to please bring any suggestions or questions to any of the board members and we will be certain to do our best to find answers and address anything that you may have. Remember, I work for all of you, as does the entire board and we are here to support the membership in the interest of good business!
